AESE focuses on helping those individuals with EHS compliance responsibilityfrom environmental and safety coordinators to fleet maintenance and service managersand their organizations in implementing cost-effective EHS compliance/training programs. Our primary products and services include:
Our Environmental Guidebooks have been used, endorsed, approved and recommended by American, Asian and European car and truck makers and many national trade association, as well as major fleet organizations. EDC has helped over 15,000 organizations in their quest to achieve environmental excellence in their motor vehicle/equipment maintenance and refueling operations. EDC was established in 1991 by David M. Augenstein for publishing, marketing and distribution of a newsletter for fleets called EnviroLine and developing the first environmental guidebook for motor vehicle maintenance/refueling. In 1992, EnviroLine subscribers increased and the hoped for guidebook was published. Guidebook sales, industry feedback and media coverage were far more than anticipated. EDC was approached by the world's No. 2 automobile manufacturer to provide its guidebooks, updates, quarterly newsletters and other services to its 1,500 U.S. dealers. Being successful in obtaining this contract, EDC was approached by other automobile manufacturers and many other organizations to provide the Guide to all their vehicle maintenance locations, as EDC expanded and enhanced its second edition in 1993. EDC also conduct conferences and training sessions under the tradename, Environmental Resource Institute from 1987 through 1997. Through the years, EDC has continuously improved and updated its Guides for its customers and added new products. EDC changed its name to Automotive Environmental & Safety Engineering (AESE) in 2001. Most recently (2005-6), in addition to his regular duties,
Mr. Augenstein has: 1) Provided technical and editorial review for Lifting It Safely DVD, hosted by NASCAR’s Kyle and Richard Petty resulting in AESE's leading endorsing statement. 2) Completed a 4-yr contract to provide national environmental assistance to Toyota Material Handling, Inc. forklift dealers. (2006) 3) Provided litigation support on state of OSHA/Safety awareness in the automotive service industry that helped in securing a $2 million settlement for a mechanic permanently injured by a faulty automotive lift. (2005) 4) Consulted with United Nations Environmental Programme specialist which resulted in the distribution of environmental guides to UN vehicle maintenance locations located in 100 countries. 5) Researched the literature and prepared presentations on the levels and health effects of fluoride, chlorofluorocarbons and aluminum ingestion from foods and municipal drinking water. (2006) 6) Conducted a 2 ½ day environmental/safety training session for a group of 25 independent consultants serving automobile dealerships (Rated 9.5 out of 10, 2005) Through its database and through major trade publications and media releases, AESE can reach over 500,000 facilities in the U.S. that service and maintain over 260 million vehicles. AESE has provided its Guides to about 15,000 organizationsranging from automobile dealerships and major car, truck and bus fleet organizations to public transit systems and airport operations, as well as government fleets such as city/county/state, military and postal fleets. Our Guides have been shipped to five continents, including the countries of Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China, Korea, South Africa, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Sweden, Russia and Australia, and to U.S. military bases throughout the world. We have received featured product awards at the APPA/MEMA Show and Product of the Month from Fleet Owner magazine and has been a subject of featured articles in most national fleet magazines over the years. Our environmental guides have been used by fleet managers to receive credit toward their designation of Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) by the National Association of Fleet Administrators. Similarly, our seminars and materials were approved by the ATA National Committee of Motor Fleet SupervisorsTraining & Certification and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in certifying fleet managers.
